An elegant rural elopement 🎉 Hidden Meadows, Tamworth Ontario 🎉 Kelly and Ben
- written by Liz Cooper, Quirky Blogger-extraordinaire
We do things a little off kilter here.
That’s what makes us special. 😉
But like, actually, we’re awesome. 😆
What we mean by off kilter is that while we’ve already blogged about the amazing venue that is Hidden Meadows/The Bee Spot, the wedding on today’s blog was actually the first wedding to officially occur at Hidden Meadows.
We also love to be a part of new things.
That make sense, right? Weddings are the ultimate celebration of something new - a new chapter in a relationship, a new life together. The possibilities are limitless and it is an exciting place to hang out.
Kelly & Ben’s wedding was just that - a blending of two families into one, the world is their oyster. And fittingly, as mentioned this elopement wedding was part of the launch weekend at Hidden Meadows, owned and operated with love by Nadine and her family.
Kelly got ready in a sea of crimson, the red-painted walls of the bridal sweet a perfect backdrop for the creams and ivories of many weddings. Kelly did her own makeup, no small task on your own wedding day. She was up to the task, and she looked amazing. After Kelly was dressed and ready, a quick switch was made and Ben took her place in the getting ready suite. And of course our photographer + videographer duo were there.
After they were all beautified, though not much was needed, such a lovely couple they are, they made their way to the massive maple tree that acts as a beacon, just such a beautiful spot. There are many lovely spots at this venue, but I can think of no other more suitable one for a wedding ceremony than at the foot of this magnificent tree.
Kelly was walked down the aisle by her son, and all the flowers in the bouquets were handpicked onsite. After the ceremony, Kelly and Ben shared their first dance under the maple, and everyone celebrated with glasses of bubbly (non-alcoholic, but still delicious… well, unless you ask the kids who pulled grossed out faces).
A wedding is the ultimate coming together, but this one with Kelly and Ben, their families becoming one, the breaking of new ground on an amazing venue, seemed to hit all the notes perfectly.
…
A word from Viara:
I loved photographing Kelly and Ben’s wedding, with their children and best friends celebrating alongside. It was intimate and meaningful in the best possible way.
Kelly was GLOWING.
We took a stroll through the fields after the ceremony and their first dance, and the golden light of afternoon did magical things. At one point, I asked Kelly and Ben to sit at the grand piano in the middle of the fields, and boy was I glad I did. Those photographs are some of my favourites of all time.
So I’m still gushing all over that elopement.
And can I take a moment to gush over Nadine and her husband and sons’ dedication to making the elopements at their beautiful property go off without a hitch? You couldn’t ask for a more giving and tireless host. She entertained the kids with ATV rides and did so much throughout this day (and also before and after).
Nadine is definitely in your camp on your wedding day. Any ideas or inclinations you have - she will try to make it work. And Katie Rose, the officiant, was wonderful. She has a kind and calming presence that makes couples feel welcome and at ease. And that’s important, because there are plenty of butterflies on a wedding day, particularly when seven children are involved! It’s wonderful to be a part of such an awesome team of wedding vendors.
I’m looking to many more elopements and small ceremonies at the Hidden Meadows in 2021.🤩
