Picture it:
50 acres of wild flowers.🌸
Cornflowers, cosmos, black eyed susans, & asters as far as the eye can see.
A haven for bees, butterflies, insects and pollinators of all kinds. 🐝
And the picture-perfect spot for your elopement or micro wedding. 💍
A family-run business dedicated to elopements and micro-weddings.
The Bee Spot, is a family-run honey business located on this heavenly acreage in Tamworth, Ontario, an easy 40 minutes north of Kingston.
This year, they opened up a venue space, catering specifically to small events, elopements, and micro weddings. They’re calling this part of their business, The Hidden Meadows, and the name is perfectly fitting.
The family (Nadine, her husband and two sons) have naturalized many parts of the property, allowing native species to thrive on their own. The rest of the property has been carefully seeded with native flowers, creating habitat for important wildlife species.
And this place fairly glows. Golden hay bales, a massive isolated tree, perfect for ceremonies, complete with a handmade arbour, draped with Bohemian fabrics, which sway in the breeze. Waves of orange and pink flowers, undulating like anemones in an underwater current. There’s even a piano in a field, a dreamy, surreal, romantic scene, perfect for dreamers and those whose greatest wish has always been to perform to an audience of butterflies and song birds.
This place is what dream weddings are made of, right here, just down the road a piece.
Renewing your vows under the big maple tree.
Nadine, owner and operator of the Bee Spot & Hidden Meadows gives clients the full package - bridal room for getting ready, a 4-wheeler ride around the property, and the occasional wardrobe assistance. Nadine exudes welcoming and warmth, she sets the stage perfectly. If you’re lucky enough to have your ceremony at Hidden Meadows, you will not be disappointed.
We also work with wonderful wedding officiant Katie Rose, who helps couples exchange vows as unique as they are.
Recreating their wedding, complete with gorgeous vintage wedding dress
On to the current photos: Tammy and Dion, and their daughter Raven travelled from Toronto to help recapture some of the magic of their own wedding day, by having additional wedding photographs taken at Hidden Meadows.
They renewed their vows under the majestic tree, hung out on the piano, like old timey jazz crooners, & frolicked in the floral-scented fields with their daughter, Raven. Near the end of the shoot Tammy donned her mother-in-law’s wedding dress, as a tribute to Dion’s family. It’s a vintage dream and she rocks it - and a little peek behind the curtain for you, you can see Nadine helping out with that classic veil flick in that couple’s photo by the orange shed.
As the preferred photographer for this venue - I know that Viara would love nothing more than to while away a summer afternoon here, photographing couples in love amongst the butterflies.
Many couples yearn for a quiet and magical elopement, full of nature’s wonder. And this is exactly what you’ll find at the Hidden Meadows, any week between June and October.

What does a typical elopement or micro-wedding experience entail?
Many packages are available, but here’s the most popular one:
❤️ Hours of magic amid fields of flowers & butterflies, large trees, and a picturesque decorated arbour under a gorgeous old maple
❤️ Time alone in nature or under the shady canopy of mature trees
❤️ A chance to exchange eternal vows with only the sound of birdsong nearby
❤️ Beautiful & iconic photography to create a family legacy for generations from Viara, head photographer at Quirky Love Photography
❤️ A picnic blanket & a bottle of (non-alc) bubbly to pop as you laugh and cheers under the blue skies
❤️ A grand piano in the meadows, so you & your partner can serenade each other (ok, not really. The piano is no longer in tune, having sat in the fields all season, but still makes a gorgeous prop!)
❤️ Local absolutely wonderful officiant Katie Rose to help you exchange exactly the kind of vows that bring you most meaning in this universe
❤️ A gorgeous bridal suite in deep red, providing stunning backdrops for getting ready photographs
❤️ A bar fridge in prep room with snacks and refreshments
